Earlier this month, ELEAGUE decided to announce their CS:GO Invitational tournament. To be honest, no one was expecting this, but here we are. 4 teams will fight for their share of $150,000 purse. This event will start on January 25th, while the grand finals will be played on January 27th.
We here at Gamopo searched hard to provide you with the best odds on the market, and we found the best ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational betting odds at Betway. If you have not read our Betway review, you can do it right here.
As you can see from the odds above, we have two clear favorites to win ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational. At the moment, Betway is favoring FaZe in this race, and they are definitely right to do so. If we are to compare these 4 teams individually, FaZe would come out on top every time.
Given the fact that FaZe will probably have no troubles advancing through their group since there are no groups, we will finally see them in a best-of-3 series. However, they will have some serious competiton in BIG. Ever since they acquired İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş services, they are looking as sharp as they can be. Finally Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz will not be the only one fragging for the German organization, and who knows, maybe this will be their first tournament trophy in 2019.
In my personal opinion, odds are too good on BIG to win ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational. Even though they can not be matched against FaZe, they are definitely the only team in this tournament who can actually win some duels. It is very important to know that BIG will have two chances against FaZe, and if they lose their upper bracket match against them, they will have another go at them in the grand finals, if they are able to advance there.
Outright betting prediction: BIG to win ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019
Odds: 3.55

There is not much to say about the format. Playoffs are the only thing in this event. However, there are two brackets in ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitationals. Both of the teams will play an opening playoff match. Winner will advance through to the upper bracket, while lose will have another chance in the lower bracket. Basically, a winner of the upper bracket will wait for their grand final match against the winner of the loser or championship bracket.
Every match is going to be played in the best-of-3 series.
1st – $80,000
2nd – $40,000
3rd – $20,000
4th – $10,000
BIG – CompLexity
Faze – Cloud9
Both of these teams played in the iBUYPOWER Masters 2019. Neither of them had a good time there as they were both stopped in their tracks. However, FaZe had blitzes of brilliance, and if Nikola “Niko” Kovač was not playing for them, there is no way they were going to win a single map in that event. On the other hand, no one was expecting anything from Cloud9 on iBUYPOWER Masters, but they were not so bad.
As we mentioned above, both of these teams had a poor showing on their recent LAN event. Given the fact that iBUYPOWER Masters was played not so long ago, it will give us a great insight into the form of these two teams.
Let’s start with FaZe. They were edged out by Ghost. Even though they lost this match, it could have easily gone other way around. Furthermore, they stomped Luminosity, but that was to be expected, as Luminosity’s core players desperately want to leave the organization. Lastly, they had another go at Ghost, and they failed once again. This time around Ghost defeat them in a dominating fashion.
Unlike FaZe, Cloud9 won their opener against fnatic. However, they had to face Astralis next, and there is no need for me to write anything about that match. They were destroyed. Lastly, they played fnatic again. A lot of bettors were expecting the same results as in their previous clash, but fnatic was able to edge out the game with 16-14 scoreline. To be honest, I do not think Cloud9 would have won the first match against fnatic if they did not reset them 3 times.
These two teams have pretty similar map pools. But of course, there are some differences as well. Neither of these teams enjoys playing Dust 2, and we will probably see this map permabanned by one of these teams. Furthermore, Cloud9 does not play Nuke at all, and this is going to be their permaban.
Now onto the good maps. Even though they have mixed results on some of these maps, both teams are comfortable on Mirage, Cache, and Overpass. Also, FaZe definitely has an edge on Inferno, and we might actually see them pick it.
FaZe remove Dust 2
Cloud9 remove Nuke
FaZe pick Mirage
Cloud9 pick Overpass
FaZe remove Train
Cloud9 remove Inferno
Cache is left as a decider
Even though both of these teams are not in a spectacular form at the moment, I simply have to favor FaZe in this one. Cloud9 is still in heavy rebuilding, and they can not find their permanent fifth. On the other hand, Faze completed their roster a couple of weeks ago, and they definitely improved since their last LAN games on iBUYPOWER Masters.
To conlcude, Cloud9 can not surprise them in the map pool department. The only thing they can try to do is go for Overpass since they had success against fnatic there. On the other hand, FaZe is a much better team on Mirage, and we all know that Niko enjoys playing this map in particular, so expect crazy performance from him. Cache is also a map were FaZe has to be favored.
Lastly, FaZe has better individuals, they also have a new coach that knows exactly what he wants from the team and I expect them to step up big time and win their opening match against Cloud9.
Betting prediction: FaZe to win
